Other Skin Concerns

What ever your skin concerns are, the experts at Sona MedSpa have a solution. Let us take care of the little imperfections, so you can discover a more confident you.

  • 01 / Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that primarily affects the face. It causes redness and, at times, can produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. At Sona, our advanced skin rejuvenation treatment has become a proven solution for relief of the symptoms of rosacea. This technology allows blood vessels in the rosacea lesions to be selectively heated and destroyed without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue. Once the vessel or lesion is impaired, the body begins its natural healing process.
  • 02 / Spider Veins

Spider veins are small blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin. They can occur anywhere on the body, and are sometimes referred to as broken capillaries when they appear on the face. Sometimes confused with varicose veins, which are raised, spider veins are flat on the skin. To treat them, Sona uses a precise hand piece, targeting each vein with an intense light applied in a series of gentle pulses. Without damaging the outer layer of skin, the light penetrates through the skin and breaks up the vein, which is then absorbed by the body as part of the natural healing process.
  • 03 / Broken Capillaries

Broken capillaries, very similar to spider veins, are damaged or broken blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin on the face. Because your skin gets thinner over time, broken capillaries can become more prominent as you age. Once broken, it will remain that way and will not heal over time. To treat broken capillaries, Sona uses a precise hand piece, targeting each area with an intense light applied in a series of gentle pulses. Without damaging the outer layer of skin, the light penetrates through the skin and breaks up the capillary, which is then absorbed by the body as part of the natural healing process.

How do we treat these conditions?

AFT

Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT) is the next generation of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology for treatment of spider veins and rosacea, and it’s here at Sona MedSpa. With the Harmony laser system, our treatment providers utilize multiple AFT hand pieces with varying wavelengths to customize a treatment program and focus on your specific pigmentation/coloration concerns.

  • 01 / Melasma

Melasma is a tan or dark skin discoloration that primarily affects women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral or patch contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy. Although the signs of melasma are similar to age spots or freckling, this is an entirely different skin condition. During pregnancy or with certain contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy, the body produces an overabundance of melanin, or pigments, when the skin is directly exposed to sunlight, and this leads to spots and discoloration.

How do we treat it?

Pixel Laser

Sona uses the Pixel laser for effective treatment of melasma, with minimal down time. Unlike other skin resurfacing technologies, only a portion of the skin is treated while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. Because the surrounding skin is left untouched, the skin heals much faster and recovery time is accelerated.

Treatment Packages
